Becoming a Shop Owner
What is a Shop Owner?
Mama’s Happy provides a physical retail marketplace for crafters, artists and collectors to sell their handmade creations, upcycled goods and repurposed items. Most shops belong to individuals, but a small group can also run a shop. The shop owners pay a % of sales to Mama’s Happy.
Here is an overview of what types of products we are looking for from shop owners:
Handcrafted: Made by you or others from scratch. This could be a piece of furniture or home decor that you built/sewed/upholstered with your very own two little hands.
Upcyled: This is not your mother’s antique! This might be a 1970′s chair that you recovered with modern material or something you literally find at the dump, fixing it up and reselling it.
Repurposed: Taking something and changing the use of it, such as taking a dresser (that’s missing a drawer) & making it into a potting table.
Shop owners have several responsibilities and need to uphold the standards of Mama’s Happy such as:
- Have their space ready by agreed upon date prior to each month’s sale
- Attend monthly store meetings
- Provide fresh merchandise each month
- Work a scheduled shift during each month’s sale
